Remote First Aid & CPR

A foundational Remote First Aid course encompasses the content of Standard First Aid & CPR (needed for some workplaces), supplemented with specific techniques tailored for wilderness and remote environments. This training equips participants with strategies for administering extended care for up to 24 hours.

A portion of the course takes place outdoors, demanding increased physical activity and endurance compared to traditional first aid training. Ideal for individuals residing or working in remote areas, as well as outdoor enthusiasts seeking to enhance their preparedness in aiding others in remote settings.

Wilderness First Aid & CPR / Bridge from Remote

Intensive first aid and CPR training tailored for individuals requiring advanced skills to effectively manage emergencies in remote or wilderness environments. This program is also beneficial for guides or leaders responsible for overseeing groups of individuals.

The curriculum builds on Remote First Aid with advanced techniques for delivering prolonged care exceeding 24 hours. Emphasizing scenario-based learning, participants engage in realistic simulations to enhance their decision-making and response capabilities. A portion of the course takes place outdoors, demanding heightened physical exertion and endurance compared to standard first aid training.

At Upper Canada First Aid we run all our Wilderness First Aid Courses as a combination of Remote First Aid and a Wilderness Bridge from Remote. This provides our customers more flexibility for the SAME price! If you already have a Remote First Aid & CPR certificate from the Canadian Red Cross, you only need to book the Wilderness Bridge From Remote.

Basic Life Support

Basic Life Support (BLS) now replaces the former Healthcare Provider (HCP) course. It is primarily aimed at in-facility care providers such as nursing staff, care aides, as well as medical and dental professionals. Additionally, pre-hospital care providers, including professionals within fire services, rescue teams, sports medicine, lifeguards, and ski patrols, can benefit from this training.
